Monthly market challenge • Tickmill Ltd • Reviewed 5 November 2026. The US jobs report rarely arrives quietly. Ahead of each Non-Farm Payrolls (NFP) release, traders weigh hiring trends, changing expectations and the possible impact on the dollar, gold and US indices. Tickmill’s NFP Predictor turns that familiar research ritual into a monthly forecasting contest with an advertised top prize of US$500 for an exact prediction.
The idea is straightforward: estimate how many nonfarm payroll jobs the US economy gained or lost in the reporting month, submit that number before the deadline and see how close it comes to the first figure published by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. A prize is possible, but it is not automatic; eligibility, tie-break rules and withdrawal conditions matter.
Tickmill NFP Predictor prize overview
| Outcome | Prize |
|---|---|
| An eligible prediction exactly matches the first NFP figure | US$500 |
| If no entry is exact: closest eligible estimate | US$250 |
| Second closest eligible estimate | US$150 |
| Third closest eligible estimate | US$100 |
The exact-match award and the three-ranking award structure are alternatives, not four prizes automatically distributed every month. Equal-distance estimates are ranked by submission time, with the earlier valid entry receiving precedence. Participants may receive only one cash prize in a calendar year under the official rules.
Who can participate?
The contest is aimed at eligible new and existing clients of Tickmill Ltd who hold a live trading account. Entries must use the email address registered to that account. Availability is subject to the broker’s entity-specific requirements and jurisdiction restrictions.
Importantly, simply predicting accurately does not remove prize requirements. The rules require winning accounts to be verified, funded and active, with at least one trade completed before the next NFP report. Tickmill’s FAQ also mentions a separate lot-based threshold before prize withdrawal. Prospective entrants should read both carefully before assuming a reward is immediately cashable.
How to take part
- Check the competition page: Open the Tickmill NFP Predictor information and entry guide.
- Register if needed: Traders without an eligible account can review the Tickmill account registration page and complete verification. Registration does not guarantee contest eligibility.
- Make your forecast: Submit one whole-number estimate of the monthly change in US nonfarm payrolls using the contest entry form and your registered Tickmill email.
- Respect the deadline: The published cutoff is Friday at 15:00 GMT+3 during the NFP release week. Verify the specific reporting date and deadline before every round.
- Check the result: Scoring uses the first BLS payroll figure. Later revisions do not count; winners are generally announced on the Monday following publication.
Only the most recent prediction is considered if an entrant submits more than one before the cutoff. There is no fixed end date in the current rules, but Tickmill may revise or suspend the competition at its discretion.
Read the conditions before chasing a prize
Tickmill says a winner’s prize is credited to their wallet as a withdrawable bonus. Its FAQ specifies one standard lot of qualifying trading volume for every US$3 in prize value before withdrawal. That would mean 50 qualifying lots for a US$150 prize, for example. The longer Terms and Conditions additionally describe verified, funded and active-account requirements. Participants should obtain confirmation from Tickmill about the complete rules applicable to their individual reward.
Spreads, commissions and market risk are real costs; deliberately increasing trade size to meet a prize-volume requirement may be uneconomic. The contest should complement genuine market research, not pressure an account holder into unnecessary trading.
